Status
The challenge
Remote access needed MFA tied to the existing Active Directory and FortiGate VPN path — without assembling a fragile stack of separate RADIUS, OTP, and directory tools.
What went live
- Griffin MFA as the RADIUS and MFA control point in front of Active Directory
- FortiGate VPN authentication with OTP challenge to FortiClient
- OTP methods from the Griffin MFA set: TOTP, Email, SMS, Bale bot, and Telegram bot
- Local audit of authentication and admin activity
Outcome
A single production platform for MFA + RADIUS + AD on FortiGate VPN — production evidence, not a demo. We do not inflate this into “enterprise-scale”; 250+ production users is meaningful operational proof.
Architecture
The FortiGate → Griffin RADIUS → AD → OTP challenge path is documented on the Griffin MFA product page.
